Basil, belonging to the mint family, is an herb with numerous health benefits, commonly used in cooking. The fresh, herbal flavor of basil pairs perfectly with meat, pasta, and appetizers. It can be added to dishes both during cooking and as a garnish to enhance the taste and appearance of the meal. However, basil essential oil has uses beyond the kitchen! It can help achieve calmness, focus, and when applied to the temples or neck – provides relief from tension.
• Massage basil oil with a carrier oil and Wintergreen into the neck to relax the body.
• Apply a few drops after an intense day of physical activity to loosen muscles.
• Use basil as a cooling agent to soothe the skin.
• Diffuse the oil to improve concentration during study or work.
• Apply directly to insect bites to calm the skin.
• Topical use: Apply 1-2 drops to the chosen area. Dilute with fractionated coconut oil to minimize the risk of irritation.
• Aromatic use: Use 3-4 drops in your preferred diffuser.
